In a heart-wrenching plea to the media, a Nkulumane family has raised alarm over the sudden disappearance of Tessy Nomagugu Ncube and her eight-year-old daughter. Tessy’s family believes her disappearance is linked to a prolonged ordeal involving a notorious group of war veterans who have allegedly been tormenting her for years.
According to a family member, Tessy had been enduring a horrific experience of rape at the hands of Halliso Ndlovu, Mlungisi Sibanda, Nkosi Moyo, and John Nkomo, known figures in their community.
Despite repeatedly approaching the police for assistance, Tessy faced continuous dismissal. “They told her there was no proof, and every time the police report documents would disappear,” the family member lamented. “It’s as if her pain did not matter.”
The relatives expressed their frustration, suggesting that the war veterans’ political connections may have influenced the police’s reluctance to take action.

“Tessy tried to report them several times, but it felt like she was fighting an uphill battle,” the family member added, emphasizing the sense of helplessness they felt in the face of systemic failure.
In the days leading up to her disappearance, Tessy confided in close friends about the escalating threats against her and her daughter.
“She was terrified,” the family member revealed. “The gang had been openly boasting that they were tired of her and were now threatening to rape her daughter.”
Tessy had expressed her fears for both her life and the safety of her child, a concern that has now become all too real.
“Now she is gone. We don’t know if she went into hiding or if those men are behind this,” the family member stated, their voice filled with anguish.
As the search for Tessy and her daughter continues, the Nkulumane family is urging the community and authorities to take their plight seriously and act swiftly to uncover the truth behind their disappearance. They are calling for justice and safety for Tessy, her daughter, and all victims of violence in their community.
