No double headers during Easter: Ndebele

The weekend Premiership programme starts tomorrow with Quelaton playing host to Shabanie Mine at Luveve Stadium, Harare City and Monomotapa fighting it out at Rufaro Stadium while Lafarge Stadium would be the venue for the Gunners and Motor Action encounter.
Quelaton, under the unheralded Thulani Sibanda, will hope their performance against Hwange last week, which saw them score three goals, will spur them on against the unpredictable Luke Masomere-coached Chinda Boys.

In previous years, football lovers have always looked forward to action-packed holidays that have also normally shown the direction which the league title would likely take come end of the season.
Chicken Inn, who had a rather disappointing draw against Gunners in the season opener, will be away to Caps United at Gwanzura Stadium on Saturday with Ascot Stadium playing host to its first Premiership football match in a long time when Hardbody, beaten 3-0 by Dynamos last Sunday, welcomes police side Black Mambas on

Sunday. Mambas were 3-1 losers to FC Platinum in their season opener.
“We have no double headers during Easter but we will  instead follow our normal fixtures,” said the PSL chief  executive officer Kennedy Ndebele. No reasons were given though.

Had the PSL thrown in double headers, action would have started this Friday and ended on Monday.
Bulawayo giants Highlanders who were meant to travel  to Mandava Stadium for a blood and thunder affair with FC Platinum on Sunday will now have to wait a little bit longer for the tie. It will now be played mid next week as FC Platinum leave today for a crucial Caf Champions League  first round second leg tie against El Merreikh on Saturday.

It is Bulawayo fans who would have enjoyed the soccer fiesta, as this weekend season-opener surprise package Quelaton are playing Shabanie Mine with their next match being a derby against Chicken Inn.

Three clubs, Buffaloes, Blue Rangers and Bosso will not be in action this weekend due to inter-club Caf matches.
Caf Confederation Cup representative Hwange, meant to take on Blue Rangers, are away to Al Amal Atbara for their first round second leg tie tomorrow evening, while  Dynamos who were supposed to travel to Mutare to face Buffaloes, are playing host to Liga Muculmana in the second leg of their first round Caf Champions League match. The match is set for Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
