NORMAN Mapeza says their battle against Triangle will be another tough test for the champions.
The Zvishavane miners are back at their Mandava fortress for tomorrow’s battle against the Sugar Sugar Boys.
“We are playing a very good team,” he said.
“If you look at their past few games, they have been really doing well.
“I think they’ve managed to win about two games, one draw and a defeat and that’s not a bad record and it’s a new team and when you face a competitive side, it’s always difficult as most of the guys will be wanting to prove a point.
“It’s not going to be easy for us, but physically and mentally we are ready for the game.”
The champions have been coming from behind in most of their games and going on to either win or draw.
“I will give an example in a boxing game, if you get a tendency of getting knocked down first then you get up and win, I’m sure one of these bouts you will get a hard punch and you will not recover.
“I spoke about it after the CAPS game, I’m really worried about it.
“It’s a situation where it gives me a lot of worries as a coach because we have been conceding.
“If you look at our last five games, we have been conceding in each and every game and it’s something which we have been trying to address as well during our training sessions.”
He added:
“If you look at most teams in Harare, they will have four or five games there but for us we have to travel so that’s the difference.
“So, if we are playing at home we need to maximise our home advantage, it’s very important.”
Mapeza gave an update on Gift Bello who has been missing in action.
“Bello has got a bad tendon injury and I’m sure the physios are trying to make sure they speed up his recovery, but there’s no shortcut in speeding up his recovery.
“We need him, I spoke to him and told him that there will be a time when we need him but he has to heal first, it doesn’t make sense for us to rush him.
“We need to be careful on that one.
“We also have Alaba and Thube who are down with flu and we will try to make sure that the bug doesn’t affect others.”
