No joy for poets

In her welcome remarks, the chairperson of the board of the National Arts Council, Dr Thokozile Chitepo,  said funds had hampered the arts council’s effort to include poetry in the awards.
“For other genres like poetry, we wish that very soon there will be awards for the artists, however, we did not have enough resources to cater for the genre,” said Dr Chitepo.
Dr Chitepo also took the opportunity to thank the organisations that provided service to the National Arts Council for the success of the occasion.
“We are grateful to the organisations like Pandave Entertainment, Jazz 105, CityLink and Cell Holdings, among others, that helped us with the welfare of nominees and the proceedings of the event,” she said.
