TRIANGLE UNITED coach Genesis Mangombe wants his players to be ruthless when they host relegated Kwekwe United in a must-win Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash tomorrow.
With just two matches left and nine teams still battling to avoid the drop, Triangle’s survival hopes hang by a thread.
They sit 16th on the table with 34 points, and anything short of victory could seal their fate.
And, in Kwekwe United, they face a side who have been everyone’s easiest target.
The Midlands outfit’s season has been an outright disaster, a campaign marked by chaos, confusion, and chronic failure.
In 32 games, they have managed one win, seven draws, and a miserable 10 points.
“We have to sink Kwekwe,” said Mangombe.
“This match is the pivotal moment to boost our chances of staying up. For us, anything less than three points would be a failure.
“Look, Kwekwe have been at the receiving end of everyone.
“They’re practically the punching bag of the league, so we have no other intention but to do the same.
“We can’t afford to be complacent. I’ve told my boys to go all guns blazing in search of a win,” he said.
Triangle must also keep an eye on other relegation dogfights, but Mangombe insists his focus is firmly on taking care of business first.
“This is about us doing our part,” he added. “We’ll see what happens elsewhere, but right now, we just have to win.”
