NO MORE SHORT-TERM DEALS AT DYNAMOS

NEW Dynamos chairman, Moses Maunganidze, believes tying down players to long-term contracts is what the club need to turn a corner.

Trevor Mavhunga, Emmanuel Jalai, Partson Jaure, Evans Katema, Arnold Mawadza, Frank Makarati, Ralph Kawondera, King Nadolo, Keith Murera, Albert Eonde, Isa Sadiki and Godknows Murwira, are some of the club’s players who will be unattached from next month.

And, it means Dynamos are set to embark on another rebuilding exercise, should these players get better offers elsewhere.

Ironically, when Makarati joined Dynamos from Ngezi Platinum Stars, he signed a 12-month deal and it expired without him kicking a ball, due to Covid-19.

And, the club handed the same player another year, at the start of the campaign, but he is likely to leave for free.

Maunganidze said short-term contracts at Dynamos were now a thing of the past.

“The club shall be offering long-term contracts to quality players and we have made that a top priority,” he said.

“It’s unfortunate that there are players who want to join Dynamos for a year and demand a package that is enough for four to five years.

“We are not going to fall prey to that, but we are going to take a step-by-step approach to create an environment which will see better players making breakthroughs into foreign leagues.

“There’s a need for us to also uplift our developmental side. “It’s easier to secure long-term contracts when you have a feeder system that produces players within the stable.”

He said for next season, their theme is ‘Less Talk And More Action’.

“The team’s 60th anniversary celebrations in 2023 should help to transform Dynamos into a business unit with a large presence on the domestic and international footballing map.

“It’s not about individualism, but we want a collective and inclusive approach whose thrust is to direct our energy towards the establishment of a formidable foundation for the restoration of the old days which saw Dynamos being ranked 20th in Africa,” he said.

He said everyone associated with the club has a huge role to play.

“The blueprint is already there and our principal sponsor, Sakunda, has provided a platform which will put everything in place in our fight to bring back the glory days.

“We are not going to dismantle the team, and fans should expect a competitive squad next season.”
