NORTON Big Boys coach Rodrick Mutuma says his charges are ready to fight when they host Premier League side Hunters in the Munhumutapa Cup at Ngoni in Norton on Saturday.
The Division 2 team is made up of former professional players. Mutuma himself is a former Dynamos striker. Now they face top-flight opposition for a place in the next round.
“This is why we play football, to test ourselves against the best.”
“We respect Hunters FC, but we do not fear them.” He said
Mutuma said experience will help Norton Big Boys.
“This team is made of men who have been there before. We still know how to play and I think experience helps a lot in cup games.
“In cup games one mistake can change everything so we must stay focused for 90 minutes.” He added
“It’s good to play at Ngoni Stadium in front of our people, we are not here to just take part but to fight,” said Mutuma
“The fans must come and support us. We need them behind us.
“Hunters have good players, they play every week in the Premier League, but we also have quality. We have men who played at the highest level.
“If we work hard and follow the plan, anything can happen.” he said
The former Dynamos forward said results are important, but pride matters too.
“If we lose, we go out with our heads high, this is what the cup is about giving everyone a chance.
