Norton gets new fire tender

Sunday Mail Reporter

THE Norton Town Council has acquired a state-of-the-art fire tender to improve the safety of residents in the rapidly growing town.

Norton’s public relations and communications officer Mr Leeroy Kaponda said the fire tender enhances the town’s emergency response capabilities.

“Norton Town Council is pleased to announce the receipt of a fire tender, made possible through the partnership between Belarus and the Government of Zimbabwe.

“This valuable addition to our emergency services will significantly enhance public safety and security for the residents of Norton and surrounding areas.”

Mr Kaponda said they appreciate the Government’s effort to create safer spaces for residents.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Zimbabwe for this generous donation, which underscores their commitment to improving the safety and well-being of our community,” he said.

President Mnangagwa launched the blueprint “A Call to Action — No Compromise to Service Delivery” in November 2023 as a road map for local authorities to prioritise service delivery, leaving no one and no place behind.
