NORTON Town Council has been carrying out roads and drains maintenance across the town.

As part of the works, the municipality put gravel on the shoulders of roads in Tangatara Extension and graded roads in Katanga.

In an interview during a tour of the suburbs, town engineer Bester Maramba said in Maridale, council had done general grading and spot gravelling.

“It’s a continuous programme that we do after the rainy season,” she said.

Eng Maramba said council was in the process of buying materials for pothole patching.

“We are waiting for procurement to do that. For grading and gravelling, we are using fuel from Zinara,” she said.

Roads foreman, Mr Richard Chiwaka said they were also lining the drains in Maridale.

“The soil collapses when it is raining. We are working on the areas affected,” he said.
