Norton town council is determined to support the growth of a strong local economy that creates jobs, is innovative and inclusive.
Speaking at the Norton town council business engagement luncheon held at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton today, Norton town council chairperson, Councillor Action Mataruse, said the council recognises that businesses are not only customers of municipal services.
“They are development partners. As a council, we are focused on improving service delivery while ensuring that our town becomes increasingly investor-friendly,” he said.
“We want to hear from you directly what is working, what are the challenges, and what support or collaboration you believe is necessary for Norton to reach its full potential,” he said.
Cllr Mataruse said the luncheon is expected to discuss investment opportunities.

“Norton offers prospects for companies that want to operate in a growing commercial environment within Mashonaland West,” he said.
“We encourage investors to bring realistic proposals, employment-focused and aligned with the development needs of our community.
“Furthermore, we will discuss preparations for the ZITF 2026. ZITF is a strategic platform for towns to market their capabilities to attract investors and connect with partners.
“We want Norton to show leadership and competitiveness through coordinated preparation, credible presentations and business participation that add value to the town’s brand.”
Cllr Mataruse said Norton town council will work with businesses to create clearer partnership pathways so that agreements reached today translate into implementation.
“We will coordinate with the relevant departments to address service delivery bottlenecks and to support investors’ engagement processes,” he said.
