and services including doves and exchanging money inside the temple. The Son of God was so angry that “he over turned their tables . . .” and accused them of turning “His Father’s House” into a “den of robbers” as reported in the Gospel according to Matthew and Mark. Therefore, every son or daughter in a family has every right to get angry and react when there is evidence that his/her “Father’s House” is being demeaned, defiled and degraded. Millions of Zimbabweans definitely regard Zimbabwe as their “Father’s House” and are certainly not happy with the way the house if being defiled by the infiltration of foreign ideas and influences under the cover of proxies mainly in the form of the MDC-T led by Mr Morgan Tsvangirai and a network of non-governmental organisations and so-called pressure groups. I proceed to dissect how the MDC-T and its allies have defiled, demeaned and degraded Zimbabwe “Our Father’s House” since their unfortunate emergence on the country’s political scene on September 11 1999.
Firstly, the MDC-T announced its arrival on the scene by promoting the notion that disputes or disagreements can only be resolved “by any means necessary or unnecessary” with violence being its obvious weapon of opposing Zanu-PF and the Government of the day. Thus, the coming of the MDC and its associates like the National Constitutional Assembly heralded the dawn of violent demonstrations disguised as mass actions and/or job stay-aways intended to force Government to address worker grievances. A lot of property was destroyed; shops were looted while Zimbabweans vividly remember the image of a man carrying the carcass of a stolen pig on his back in Mabvuku at the height of the stay aways. MDC’s belief in violence was also manifest in Tsvangirai’s alleged use of party militia to settle political disputes including the famous split in 2005. The former Secretary-General of the Party Welshman Ncube recently confessed that they were using party militia to settle disputes at Harvest House, MDC Headquarters, as early as the year 2000. The second curse the MDC-T has brought on this country are the illegal economic sanctions that were imposed by the European Union and its allies. The sanctions were imposed in response to Government’s initiative to redistribute land that was concentrated in the hands of a few white farmers into the hands of thousands of indigenous Zimbabweans who are now enjoying the fruits of the programme. The sanctions brought untold suffering including job losses, destruction of livelihoods and savings, lack of access to basic services like food, health and education to thousands of Zimbabweans.
Thirdly, the MDC-T has seriously wounded the moral fabric of the nation by promoting anti-social behaviour like homosexuality and multiple sexual liaisons. The Party has supported, idolised and hero-worshipped world renowned gay icons like Peter Tatchell and the late Keith Goddard. If Zanu-PF representatives in the constitution making process were not red alert the MDC-T brigade would have smuggled gay rights and same-sex marriages into the country’s supreme document against the wishes of the majority of citizens as gathered through the outreach exercise. On the other hand, MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has brought a lot of disharmony into “Our Father’s House” by abusing a number of women through engaging in life endangering multiple sexual partnerships, humiliating women through public divorces and forced abortions. Thus, Mr Tsvangirai has reduced the mothers of the nation into sex objects which can be discarded .
Fourthly, the MDC-T is bringing a lot of confusion in “Our Father’s House” by sending mixed signals on the need for the country’s citizens to benefit from the nation’s natural resources. Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai and key lieutenant Tendai Biti has vowed to reverse the historic land reform exercise and the rolling indigenous and economic empowerment programme. Thus, livelihoods of thousands of people are being placed at risk if ever the MDC-T were to win the elections in Zimbabwe.
Fifth, the MDC-T dominated ministries and councils under the Government of National Unity have exhibited unparalled corruption, bribery and looting. Indeed, if left unchecked, the party is on the verge of turning “Our Father’s House” into a “den of robbers” as despised by Jesus Christ more than two thousand years ago. There are reports of MDC-T councillors dispossessing older people of their homes in Harare’s suburbs of Highfield, Glen Norah and Glen View and converting them for personal use, Harare Deputy Mayor, who is an MDC-T Councillor has also constructed a 32 bedroomed house in a leafy suburb while there is no record of any legitimate income generating project under his watch except the meagre council allowances. The MDC-T has fired close to half of its elected councillors throughout the country due to hard evidence of rampant corrupt activities.
Sixth, despite the dawn of the inception of the inclusive Government, the MDC-T has been bringing further shame to the country by taking little and inconsequential disputes for arbitration by Sadc. This has severely dented our image in Africa and beyond and creates an impression that Zimbabwe does not have a leadership with the capacity to solve its problems. The MDC-T is currently pestering Sadc to decide on the internal issue of elections yet the highest court in the land the Constitutional Court has already made a binding determination on the matter. Thus, through its lack of leadership and cry-baby tendencies the MDC-T has reduced our nation to a circus ridiculed by all and sundry.
Finally, MDC-T has made serious attempts to ruin the unity, peace and stability this country has enjoyed over the past 33 years by continuously demanding so called “security sector reforms” through which they want to compromise the capacity of our defence and security forces to defend the nation’s sovereignty and interests. The Party has gone on to announce plans to “professionalise” the sector by giving full control to foreigners from Britain, the USA and others if ever they were to come to power. Hence, the country’s defence against enemies will be coordinated from Britain and America yet we all know they are the key architects of sanctions and other negative activities retarding the growth of our economy and inhibiting our prosperity as a nation. While we salute our Generals for making it unequivocally clear that they will never allow such a ridiculous proposition akin to hiring a wolf to guard sheep the nation should endorse this position by shutting the political door forever on Morgan Tsvangirai and his Party through outright rejection through the ballot box.
While MDC-T has been pursuing the noted nefarious activities, it has been running a parallel programme of massive demonisation and character assassination of the country’s leadership particularly the Head of State and Government, and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces President Mugabe. Through the Western lenses of the BBC, CNN and other sponsored pirate radio stations like SW Radio, Voice of Zimbabwe and so forth the Party has been at the forefront of peddling lies about the country and its leadership in an effort to isolate “Our Father’s House” from the rest of the Global village.
Thus, the forthcoming harmonised elections provide ample opportunity for Zimbabweans to make a decision that will restore order, dignity and respect to our beloved “father’s house”. While, Jesus Christ whipped the transgressors and overturned tables the people of Zimbabwe should silently use the ballot box to evict the unruly invaders and make a bold statement that their negative politics and retrogressive activities will never be tolerated again in this country.
Yes, each and every eligible Zimbabwean, especially young people whose future is being compromised, should register to vote so that through the ballot he/she can tell Morgan Tsvangirai and his gang that their machinations and insidious acts of sabotage can be tolerated anywhere else but, “Not in My Father’s House”, Zimbabwe.
