To the war mongering and myopic western minds, this innocuous and unambiguous statement meant that Iran intends to establish trade on uranium with Zimbabwe. Their imperially blinkered senses told them that Iran was planning to ship uranium from the South African nation for the development of its rightful civilian nuclear facilities.
It meant that Iran wants to transfer nuclear technology to Zimbabwe and hence it becomes inadmissible and totally unacceptable. It appears the western world cannot stomach the establishment of bilateral trade relationships between Zimbabwe and Iran. More so, these neo-colonialists could not imagine the two countries exchanging nuclear related resources because they wrongfully believe it is universally abominable. In their unjustifiable paranoia, these hegemonic countries found it unfathomable that Iran has found a source of uranium for the expansion of its justified energy related nuclear developments.
What I find mind boggling is the inordinate tendency by the western world to willfully twist innocent bilateral arrangements between sovereign countries to suit their premeditated political designs. Looking at the statement from the Iranian Foreign Minister, one would fail to understand how these cunning westerners have imported the issue of the non existent uranium exchange between Zimbabwe and Iran.
Clearly, this reference to uranium is a mischievous attempt to negatively cast Iran as a country seeking to build nuclear arms. This will ultimately foments the west’s already publicised bid to militarily invade the Islamic nation. I tend to detect high levels of hypocrisy and equal doses of double standards when the west turns a blind eye to nuclear developments in countries it considers to be friendly only to concoct unsubstantiated accusations against its supposed enemies like Iran.
Recently, South Korea, a staunch US quisling unveiled a plan to become the world’s third largest exporter of nuclear reactors in 2030 but no single country voiced their disapproval even the supposed nuclear averse westerners. Similarly, a number of western allies have not only developed nuclear energy but have successfully managed to build nuclear weapons. Most notable are Israel, Pakistan and India, all of whom are non members of the NTP and thus could not be subjected to the nuclear proliferation inspections. The naughtiest of these is Israel, which with unbridled zeal and well grounded hatred, has threatened to militarily deal with Iran.
The nuclear programmes of Israel remain opaque and well funded by the US yet they pose a definite threat to the security and stability of the Middle East. The threat posed by the trigger happy Jewish state to its neighbouring Arab states is genuine and ongoing as opposed to the imagined threat of the continually denigrated Iran. Israel has customarily launched unprovoked and illegal military attacks against its Arabic neighbours. It continues to indiscriminately bomb targets within Palestine and in the process kill quite a number of civilians. Israel has a war chest full of nuclear weapons and continues to unrestrainedly build more stocks without the imperial world raising a finger.
Worse still, Israel is a nuclear state yet it is not a signatory to the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NTP).
In this sense, it is not subject to any inspections to ensure that it ceases to develop more nuclear weaponry. As a result, it is free to continue amassing nuclear arms without attracting any international reproach.
Such a scenario makes it the most suitable candidate for meticulous inspections and continuous harassment as is being directed at the nuclear free Iran. Conversely, Iran has no nuclear weapons but is being persecuted left, right and centre because of unverified accusations that it might develop nuclear weapons. Above all, unlike Israel, Iran is a voluntary signatory of the NTP, a sign that it is willing to be transparent and accountable fort its nuclear explorations.
It is therefore clear that the country that should rightfully be reined in is Israel and not Iran.
Israel is literally a lose canon and an imminent threat to world peace yet the west handles it with kids gloves while at the same time unfairly lampoon Iran on spurious claims. The United States and its bootlicking allies have managed to effectively manipulate the provisions of the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NTP) and the recent ambiguous report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to indict Iran of nuclear proliferation. It is sad that the US and its allies continue to ignore sincere declarations by Iran that it is not planning to develop nuclear weapons but simply trying to build peaceful civilian nuclear energy.
The development of peaceful nuclear energy is allowed and supported by a provision of the NPT sometimes called the “third pillar”. Just as the west and its allies have developed and continue to develop nuclear power, it is Iran’s inviolable right to develop similar power for the benefit of its people. Above all, looking at geo-political issues between Iran and Israel, it is only fair that the Islamic state be allowed to develop its own nuclear weapons as a deterrent to continuous military threats by the nuclear powered and US backed Israel. Coming back to the issue of trade between Zimbabwe and Iran, it must be noted that no country has the right to tell other states whom they should trade with. Under the open market system, to which these western countries claim to subscribe to, it is each countries inalienable right to economically deal with countries of its choice. Also the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity instructs us to be masters of our destiny.
As such, the puerile uproar by the US and its allies over indications that Iran is going to exchange resources with Zimbabwe is purely unacceptable and an affront to our bid for self determination. Just as the United States is free to enter into some contentious arms deal with similarly contentious entities like Taiwan, it should also allow other states to enter into deals with countries of their choice even if they are supposedly American enemies.
As we all know, China considers Taiwan to be its renegade province but the US treats it as an independent state and had atrociously sponsored its military for years. Similarly, just as the United States feels that Israel should be allowed to build defensive mechanisms against the portentous military threats from Iran, Iran must also be allowed to fortify its defensive structures as it faces continuous threats from the Jewish state. We cannot condone this situation were Iran is being subtly disarmed while
Israel is overtly allowed to strengthen its military structures. This undoubtedly flies in the face of natural justice and infringes the inviolable principle of fairness.
It is clear therefore that the United States and their western acolytes want to pretend to be the world policemen. What is, however vexing is that in their “patrols” they employ selective application of justice and undiluted favouratism. They spare their rogue and criminal allies like Israel from international justice while they unfairly persecute their supposed political foes on glaringly fabricated accusations.
