Notorious robber killed

night vigil by angry villagers that had gathered outside the home of his girlfriend Elizabeth Matinyenya at Tengwe Resettlement Farm.
This followed a sting operation organised by members of the police neighbourhood watch committee after a tip off.

The two police neighbourhood watch committee members teamed up with some youths who were fed up with Kadenhe’s depravations.
On approaching the house, they identified themselves and ordered him to come out but he refused.
Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara said: “Our members of the neighbourhood watch committee went to the house with several youths from the area who wanted to ensure that he is apprehended,” he said.

However, after refusing the mob was left with no choice but to wait as it was dark and they knew he was armed with a 303 rifle used to terrorise villagers in the area.
After breaking into the house and confronting him, Kadenhe resisted arrest and the mob teamed up to subdue him and managed to recover the 303 rifle and a live round which was tucked in a sofa.

“He would tuck the rifle in the sofa using a string and needle to ensure that a search would not lead to its discovery.
However, on this occasion the police constabulary were vigilant and managed to recover the rifle,” he said.

The 303 rifle serial number 1942 was stolen in one of his initial raids at a tuckshop and he used the weapon to terrorise villagers. After his arrest, he was taken to Kenzamba police station but as they passed through the shops where he had had a series of robberies, the mob swelled as more people joined in and they assaulted him.

Kadenhe was taken to Kenzamba police station where he was transferred to                      Kenzamba clinic after his condition deteriorated. He, however, died along the way and his body was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for post mortem.
