NOZIBELO Maphosa is stepping down as Highlanders’ communications officer, with her departure taking effect on August 1.
Maphosa joined the club in 2022 and has played a key role in refining Highlanders’ public relations and media strategy over the past three years. Her departure marks the end of a tenure the club described as influential and committed.
“We extend our sincere appreciation for her service and wish her continued success in her future endeavours. Nozibelo has been an integral part of our team,” the club said in a statement.
Her departure comes just as Highlanders ushers in a new CEO, Denzel Mnkandla, who will officially take the reins on the same day, August 1. Mnkandla, previously the club administrator at FC Platinum, replaces acting CEO, Kindman Ndlovu.
A graduate of the National University of Science and Technology (Nust), Mnkandla edged out fellow candidates Nomvelo Mlotshwa and Nkululeko Ndlovu to land the job. He fills the role vacated by Brian Moyo, who stepped down four months ago.
With Maphosa leaving and Mnkandla stepping in, Highlanders enters a new chapter. Supporters will be watching closely to see how the club’s revamped leadership team reshapes one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic football institutions.
