NTABAZINDUNA Prison will hope to extend their unbeaten run when they take on tricky Tsholotsho Pirates outfit in a Zifa Southern Region Division One encounter at the weekend.
Buoyant Ntabazinduna are on cloud nine after beating Plumtree Chiefs 2-0 in their last encounter while Tsholotsho were held to a goalless draw by Elephant FC.
The Lizwe Sweswe-coached rural Matabeleland North outfit will be desperate to keep up with the top teams after failing to collect maximum points.
Ntabazinduna coach Agent Sawu said they are now primed for the Tsholotsho test as what happened against Chiefs was now water under the bridge.
“What happened before is now water under the bridge. We have to approach the game with caution, this is what I have told my boys throughout the week. Tsholotsho are a good side so we are not taking them lightly but we have to collect maximum points,” he said.
Sawu is sweating over the fitness of Denis Dube, Nomanhla Moyo and last week’s goal scorer James Chibara who picked up knocks and awaits a late fitness test.
“Three players picked up injuries, we hope they will pass late fitness tests,” he said.
The former Zimbabwe Saints and Dynamos goal scoring machine has transformed Ntabazinduna into a promising outfit after saving them from relegation last season.
They are among the favourites for honours along with Tsholotsho, Technosphere and Plumtree Chiefs.
In other fixtures, wounded Plumtree Chiefs welcome struggling newcomers Old Nic Mine who are yet to win a game.
ZPC Hwange faces Trumus while Technosphere will lock horns with Hwange Juniors.
Fixtures:
Black Boots v Kabwe Warriors (Cancelled), Mpumalanga v Elephant FC (postponed), Portland Cement v Zimbabwe Saints (Portland Cement), ZPC Hwange v Trumus (Hwange), Technosphere v Hwange Juniors (Hwange), New West v Quelaton (Luveve), Plumtree Chiefs v Old Nic Mine (Raylton), Tsholotsho v Ntabazinduna (Tsholotsho)
