Ntini set for Zim coaching role

Cape Town – Former Proteas fast bowler Makhaya Ntini is in line for a coaching position with Zimbabwe’s national cricket team.

According to reports, Ntini is in talks with Zimbabwe Cricket which wants to engage him as a bowling coach for the national team.

Zimbabwe’s recent poor form has prompted the country’s cricket bosses to strengthen the backroom staff to assist head coach Dav Whatmore.

Apart from gaining the services of Ntini, Zimbabwe Cricket is believed to also be on the hunt for a batting coach from Bangladesh as well a specialist spinning coach from Pakistani.

Ntini, 38, played 101 Tests for South Africa, taking 390 wickets at an average of 28.82.

He also featured in 173 one-day internationals and 10 T20 internationals. – Sport24
