A NURSE who caused a scene at a popular leisure joint situated in Tshabalala suburb as he ran berserk and allegedly stabbed another man several times with a broken beer bottle appeared in court on Wednesday facing attempted murder charges.

Tendai Junior Visande, from Bulawayo’s Nketa suburb, appeared before Western Commonage Regional Magistrate Mr Pasipanodya Maturure facing attempted murder charges. Visande was a self-actor.

He was granted US$200 bail and was told not to interfere with State witnesses and to reside at an address he supplied to the court until the trial is concluded. Visande was instructed to report once every Friday at Tshabalala Police Station.
The matter was postponed to 22 April 2026.

Prosecutor Ms Melisa Dube told the court that on 4 April 2026, at around 6pm at Chicken Corner, Tshabalala, Bulawayo, the complainant, Tendai Gwazi (32), was seated inside his car with his friends when Visande and his friends arrived at the leisure joint and started pushing and shoving each other towards Gwazi’s car.

“Gwazi tried to talk to the accused and his friends to move away from his car. All of a sudden, Visande ran berserk and picked up a beer bottle before assaulting the complainant with it once on the left cheek and face before it broke. Visande went on to stab the complainant once on the right hand,” said Ms Dube.
