and said he would soon appoint another councillor to replace him.
“We have received his letter of resignation. We have accepted it and we are in the process of appointing a replacement,” he said.
Clr Nyachowe dismissed reports that allegations of corruption in his dealings with Chitungwiza Municipality had prompted his resignation last Monday, insisting he wanted to concentrate on his political career and business.
“I want to give more time to my businesses because I want to meet certain targets,” said Clr Nyachowe.
“This is only achievable if I dedicate my time entirely to that specific area. I was running out of time. I know some people might want to associate me with bad things but I am clean and I am leaving with clean hands,” he said.
Clr Nyachowe said he served council well.
“I made a lot of commercial transactions with a lot of people and companies and the deals I did with Chitungwiza Municipality were purely commercial transactions just like what Harare City Council did with TN and several other companies.”
Since his appointment Clr Nyachowe has clashed several times with MDC-T councillors. He had also openly clashed with Harare mayor Muchadeyi Masunda.
