FORMER Warriors defensive midfielder Esrom Nyandoro is delighted to work with former Coventry City striker Peter Ndlovu at Mamelodi Sundowns. Nyandoro told Chronicle Sport that the Sundowns management had been very supportive in his career. “It is always great to work in a big team like Sundowns and their management has been helpful in my career.
“I played alongside Ndlovu when he signed for the Brazilians a few seasons ago after his long stint with English clubs. We had good moments as he brought in some wealth of experience and many of us looked up to him.”
Nyandoro who is now among the veterans at the Pretoria-based side is happy that he is one of the few players including Surprise Moriri who are still playing football for the Absa Premiership champions.
The former AmaZulu player said: “It is always any footballer’s dream to work with someone like Ndlovu, surely he was a world class player and his influence and impact to the beautiful game is unquestionable.”
Nyandoro thanked the former Coventry City ace for everything he has done for football lovers.
He said their good understanding continues with Ndlovu despite the fact that he is now the team’s manager.
Thulani Thuswa, Sundowns spokesman, said Nyandoro was a valuable player and the team will continue relying on him.
Other Zimbabweans who have played for the Brazilians are Henry Mckop, Nelson Bandura, Lionel Mt’izwa, Simba Sithole and Alexander Maseko.
