ZIFA Central Region Division One side Nichrut coach John Nyikadzino believes his team’s lead in the championship race is not a fluke and they will prove that by winning against stubborn Makusha this afternoon. Nyikadzino, a former Chapungu coach, took over at ambitious Nichrut at the beginning of the season and has since transformed the side. The team shot to the apex of the log table last week on goal difference. ”I think the race is wide open and we need to focus on our game only and see what will happen at the end,” said Nyikadzino.
”The other teams will be playing for their advantage so we will not look at what they are doing although they also have a say in our destination. The team is doing well and I have a lot of guys who have experience and are willing to take the ticket.”
The other two regions already have promoted teams in Herentals and Bulawayo Chiefs from Northern and Southern Region. The Eastern Region has taken a break to allow Tenax, who are in the race, to take part in Correctional Services Games.
