ZIMBABWE’S football giants Highlanders and Dynamos were on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively summoned by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to appear before the Disciplinary Committee for alleged acts of misconduct.
Bosso are reportedly being charged for contravening Order 31 of the league’s Rules and Regulations after their fans threw missiles during their 4-0 defeat to Chapungu at Ascot Stadium on 25 October.
The disorder started after Edmore Muzanenhamo opened the scoring and went on to celebrate his goal in front of the Bosso fans.
The Bosso followers got irritated and threw missiles into the pitch causing a 28-minute stoppage.
The blue half of the capital is also being charged for breaching the Order 31 during their Chibuku Super Cup semi-final match against Triangle United FC on the 28th of October at Rufaro Stadium.
The game was stopped for almost a quarter of an hour after the far side assistant referee was hit by a missile thrown by frustrated home fans. The fourth assistant had to take his place as the injury was serious.
It seems the hooligans among the Highlanders and Dynamos supporters do not want to learn from past mistakes with the violence set to cost the clubs a fortune.
Last year Highlanders supporters forced the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum when the rowdy fans threw missiles onto the pitch after the hosts had
grabbed an equaliser in the 93rd minute from the penalty spot.
Police had to fire teargas to disperse the restless crowds during the mayhem, creating another bad advertisement for the game.
