Oilers beat Ostriches in BBA Cycle 3

THE Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) League entered Cycle Three with Oilers registering their second win of the season by beating Ostriches 117-28 in the men’s category at Khanyisile Sports Centre yesterday.

Othniel Murambasvina was the highest scorer for Oilers with his 31 points. Oilers had a bad start to the season when they lost 46-57 to defending champions Southern Mavericks in their Cycle One match, before registering their first win last week, beating Nust 64-44.

In other matches in the men’s category, Southern Mavericks also continued with their bright start to the season, beating Highlanders 61-49.

In the women’s category, Divas rebounded from last week’s 13-46 thumping by Nust to beat Lupane State University (LSU) 44-22.

Results:

Men: City Knights 41- 67 NUST, Southern Mavericks 61- 49 Highlanders, Oilers 117 – 28 Ostriches, Giants 88- 34 LSU

Women: Lakers Snr 69- 14 Highlanders, LSU 22- 44 Divas, Angels 34- 48 Lakers Jnr, Southern Mavericks 67-25 Nust.
