Old Miltonians win bowls title

Lorraine Shell Memorial Tournament, which was hosted by City Bowling Club.
The Bulawayo-based team managed 79 points with an aggregate score of 91 to beat 17 other teams that took part in the tournament.

The three-day tournament had teams from all the provinces with Harare providing most of the teams.
The Old Miltonians team walked away US$750 richer for their efforts.
The Roy Goodhope Bowling Club team, also from Bulawayo, were the runners-up and they received US$500.

The team had managed 77 points, two shy of the winners while Borrowdale Brooke came closely in third place. The Brooke team had 72 points after the final three rounds in the tightly-contested tournament.
Gweru Sports Club’s team of Timothy Machisa, Ignatius Manunure, Jabulani Sibanda, John Mandava and Else Davies came fourth.
The Loraine Shell Memorial Tournament is held in honour of the late Zimbabwe Fives bowls-founding member and sit-in committee member. Zimbabwe Fives was renamed this year after the death of Lorraine Shell who played for City Bowling Club and Borrowdale Brooke.
