OLD Mutual has maintained its longstanding role as the title sponsor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) golf tournament, which was dominated by AFC Holdings last Sunday at Chapman Golf Club in Harare.

Just like in its previous editions, this year’s tournament was a vibrant celebration of both sport and philanthropy, with participants enjoying golf, networking, and fostering connections beyond the course.

For over 12 years, this partnership has brought together golfing enthusiasts and industry leaders, all united in the common goal of supporting vital educational initiatives and community development across Zimbabwe.

The ICAZ Charity Golf Tournament has made a profound impact, with funds raised supporting numerous charitable projects aimed at transforming local communities.

Through this initiative, Old Mutual has contributed to a range of educational efforts, including the donation of ‘A’ Level Accounting textbooks to students in Mashonaland West and East, the provision of desks and chairs to schools in need, and financial support for underprivileged students through the ICAZ Vimbiso Trust Scholarship Fund.

Old Mutual’s spokesperson, Lillian Mbayiwa said: “These efforts underscore Old Mutual’s unwavering commitment to integrity, social responsibility, and meaningful change in the communities it serves.

“Our partnership with ICAZ exemplifies how integrity in business can drive meaningful change. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our youth and communities. As a responsible corporate entity, Old Mutual continues to lead by example, promoting financial education, inclusion, diversity, and entrepreneurship across Zimbabwe.

“The ongoing partnership with ICAZ aligns perfectly with the company’s values and reinforces its position as a leader in promoting sustainable business practices. The funds raised during this year’s tournament will directly benefit educational programs, scholarships, and resources for accounting students, ensuring that the impact of the event will be felt long after the last ball is struck.

“Old Mutual remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a sustainable and prosperous future for all Zimbabweans. The company looks forward to continuing its fruitful partnership with ICAZ, exploring new opportunities to further support education and community development throughout the country.”
