Old Skool fiesta rocks Mutare

Entertainment Correspondent
POPULAR entertainment centre, Flavour Town Leisure Centre, which is fast becoming a place to be for old school music lovers, will this weekend host revered wheel spinners, DJ Flex and Ras Moze in old school gigs dubbed: Blast from the Past.

The two deejays will clash from tonight (Friday) till Sunday in potentially explosive shows that will see patrons being treated to local and international old school music, something that has been missing in most local leisure centres in the Central Business District.

In an interview, club spokesperson, Hardley Kamonera, said this weekend’s clash was the beginning of good things bound to happen at the centre which was recently rejuvenated.

Of late, the venue has successfully managed to intertwine entertainment and sport by drawing tens of sporting patrons and music lovers for darts and pool tournaments.

“Local and international old school music is one of our greatest strengths and we have managed to draw tens of new patrons to our centre. This weekend, Mutare’s two renowned deejays will lock horns on the turntables and they will be dishing out classic music from the 90s.

“The old school slots will see the two deejays taking turns to entertain revellers. We urge people to come in their numbers and have undiluted fun.

“Besides old school, we will also treat our patrons with a blend of Zim-dancehall, sungura and ragga music. We have re-branded this venue into a world class entertainment centre that offers excellent services that suits the current leisure trends,” he said.

Local dance groups and upcoming Zim-dancehall musicians will as from next weekend take turns to entertain revellers as we seek to promote local talent and nurture them to compete with established Harare-based musicians.
