Old skool pundits were pleased to see Huggiez Entertainment back at their favourite joint — ZimCafe Restaurant along Kwame Nkurumah Avenue in the capital — for their weekend excursion of old skool music.
Made up of popular DJs, Witness “Chuman” Matema, Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza, Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza and Frankie, Huggiez Entertainment has brought with it some mature patrons and it’s all happening every Saturday and Sunday starting at midday until the wee hours.
The party starts on a slow tempo and then peaks up with the DJs rocking the decks with some yesteryear classics as they bring the good old days with music dating back to the late 1970s, 80s, 90s and hits from the turn of the millennium.
According to Chuman, weekends will never be same again at ZimCafe Restaurant as they crank the beats.
“We’re happy to be back at ZimCafe Restaurant just next to the Holiday Inn. So far, it has been good for us and the F&B Guru Isaac (of ZimCafe). For those who love jazz music we have a special slot every Sunday where myself and Frankie will be throwing some serious Afro-jazz.
“There is so much good music to be featured on the slot and if you snooze obviously you lose. We have also started new skool music just in case there are fans who love it,” Chuman said.
Isaac Neshamba, popularly known as F&B Guru in show business, confirmed the return of Huggiez Entertainment saying there will be lots of fireworks at the joint.
“Like I always say, the original is hard to beat and this is why the guys are back to do what they know best.
“We are keeping up with international standards and the hangout is for the mature listeners so we have great old skool music although here and there we also do new skool.
“However, since we are a restaurant, the chefs have prepared light meals and we have you to ensure that patrons have sumptuous treats throughout the shows.
“As you might be aware we do lunches and breakfast but over and above we offer quality entertainment and weekend sessions are a must-attend,” he said.
Mr Kool will be there to ensure that the music flows non-stop while at the same time bringing the mature sound to revellers.
D-Train will be there to spice it up with some rare grooves and music that is doing the rounds at the moment.
Essentially there are no dull moments.
