On the prophetic wisdom desk

saying, “Who is this?” And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”(Matthew 10&11,ESV).

When the time comes for the prophecy to be fulfilled, sometimes it divides people into two.
There is a group that knows the prophecy and are expecting its fulfillment and there is a group that does not know and doesn’t regard the prophecy.

From this passage of scripture we can see the city of Jerusalem being torn into two. Some are waking up from their sleep only to find out there is a strange thing happening in their city.

A man whom they don’t know and recognise had invaded their city. Men of the city demanded to know who this is!

These, I think were some men of some authority.
Surprisingly, their answer was gotten in the same city, but from a lowly group of people, the crowds, and the followers of the prophet. No prophet had ever been seen in the city with such a followership, so they wanted to establish who this could be.

The man didn’t come from among them; it is a bitter pill to swallow for some of the men of the city to accept this!

If their hands didn’t craft and commission something, to them the thing will remain unauthentic and with some question marks. “Who is this?”, they demanded to know.

It’s a new thing. Probably the kind of such big gatherings were used to be seen on rallies or people going for football matches. It’s a shock to some of the people of the city for them to see people responding to the prophetic and are following the prophet.

Probably the dimension in which the prophetic was operating was never been seen in such a fashion, people had no option, but only to respond to the call of God.

When God is doing a new thing in a nation or a city, the people tend to get divided. There is a group of people who are born to oppose, born not to understand unless if it is them who are at the centre stage. There is also a group of them that looks and searches into the matter and had to find out for themselves and normally this is the group that usually follows when overwhelmed with the truth.

In the book of 1 Kings 18:4, we see Obadiah saving the prophets of God from the system called Jezebel.

Jezebel is a spirit that does not regard the prophetic. In reality, this spirit desires to kill and wipe away the prophets from the face of the earth. In Ahab’s house, a prophet is a prophet because he himself and his wife are the ones who are overally in charge of the prophetic.

This system only accepts the prophets according to their definition. If a prophet doesn’t prophesy by favouring them, he ceases to be a prophet. Obadiah had to hide the prophets in the caves by their fifties. Not because their God couldn’t fight for them, but God wants to see people standing up with what they believe before they get His divine backing and signature.

The world or the Jezebel system has its own prophets. The system has to be reminded that only the prophets of Jehovah will prevail when we get to Mt Carmel! Prophets are not prophets when they are crafted and made to come out of the hands of kings. Kings are the ones that must come out of the hands of the prophets. Only the supernatural can give birth to the natural, not the other way.

Luke 9:18-20: At one time Jesus had to ask His disciples who the crowds say He was and also what they say about Him. The crowds said He was Jeremiah, Elijah, John the Baptist and some said He was one of the great prophets.

Many people had many definitions of who He was, but among all the people’s answers there was no correct answer. Those with wrong answers were even not the followers. One from Jesus’ camp, Apostle Peter, was given a revelatory definition of who Jesus was from God.

Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Most High God! Not in the camps of the enemies should you expect to be correctly defined! Only the followers have the correct definition of who a man is. I hear a lot of people some are even journalists trying to tell the nations about who Prophet Makandiwa is.

I propose before you write anything about the man, you better look for his parents and his followers, they can give you a better definition of who a prophet is.

If principles and ethics are to be observed, I think it is not the duty of a farmer to start moving around defining to the nations who a prophet is with accuracy and precision. Only prophets can be able to define other prophets.

Not everyone can understand the prophetic, but prophets understands everything. May I speak to those whose hearts are asking, “Who is this?”

Sometimes it does not have to be defined by you for it to become relevant and authentic. When God’s time to fulfill certain prophecies comes, some things have to happen, even without your involvement and understanding.

You don’t have to pen it for it to become real.
If God chooses not to consult you on certain things, He still remains God. Some of the things you have to know them by other people’s definitions not only when you define them.

May our hearts and spirits be open enough to receive whatever God wants to do in our midst and with whomsoever He wills to do it. God bless Zimbabwe and its people in Jesus’ name! Amen.
