Once a sell-out always a sell-out

Ambrose Chihwai Correspondent
The liberation war was littered with all sorts of sell-outs. It was a war whose duration took long as a result of some individuals that had links with the Rhodesians Political demagogues like Nyathi, Elias Hondo, Crispen Hamadziripi, Chigohwe Dzinashe Machingura and Kudzai Mbudzi “sic” of the Mavambo /Kusile/Dawn were some of the reactionaries who sold out the revolution.

During the second Chimurenga war some tried, trusted and tested cadres sometimes fell prey to the whims of colonial machinations and sold out in exchange of money.

Imperialist secret agents have a long history of infiltrating political institutions they feel were fighting for policies that aim at emancipating the majority of the people from colonial slavery.

The colonial infiltration architecture was first practised by the Imperialists in Ghana, where CIA agents helped the ousting of Kwame Nkrumah, in DRC where CIA and MI6 agents helped in the killing of Patrice Lumumba.

The colonial long and hideous act of infiltrating governments and political institutions tell us how the Imperialists employ the concept of divide rule.

The absence of an ideological school in Zimbabwe and the silence by Zanu-PF in pronouncing the establishment of such a school shows how weak the Commissariat is.

During the liberation struggle it took weeks and months to produce ideologically undiluted crops of cadres who had the capacity of resisting any political machinations by the imperialists.

In line with that ideology, the party strictly observed the eight points of attention as a code of conduct.

Some Zanu-PF cadres now take indiscipline as fashionable practice to rubbish the party, getting fired; later to rejoin the party and continue with arrogance. Due to lack of ideological teachings even the once tried, trusted and tested cadres are joining a coterie of sell outs.

The absence of a devoted national political commissar has opened flood gates for new entrants to receive money from the capitalists and destroy the party from within as exemplified by the “dirty dozen.”

One wonders what motivates the National Political Commissar to fail putting a programme to end factionalism in the revolutionary Party.

It is unthinkable to ever view such an office bearer will be able to put a robust ideological programme if that individual cannot draw up a vigorous anti-factionalism programme aimed at uniting the party. One wonders whether the National Commissar, whose duty is to carry-out ideological programmes and tenaciously fight factionalism, is not deeply sunk in factional politics of the revolutionary party Zanu-PF.

When the National Political Commissar fails to respond to simple impersonation of the party by a political demagogue like Retired Major Mbudzi could that not be said to be a dereliction of political duty?

For the avoidance of doubt, Retired Major Mbudzi was never a Zanla Commissar of any base in Maputo. In fact, there were no Zanla bases in Maputo apart from the base of the sick at Matola and a transit camp 35km outside Maputo which was meant for those going for further training in Russia and China.

This did not require a Commissar. I therefore challenge Mbudzi to name the camps in which he was a Commissar.

During the liberation struggle Retired Major Mbudzi was arrested for planning division in the party towards the end of 1976. He was only released at the time of coming back to Zimbabwe in 1980 with a group of hundred together with Cde Rugare Gumbo who was also a convict.

Mbudzi only joined the army as a social worker at headquarters 5 Brigade after having been pardoned as happened to Cde Rugare Gumbo around 2004 where he was allowed to rejoin the party.

Information available indicates that Mbudzi was forced to retire from the Army due to his indiscipline.

It is a blatant lie that Mbudzi supported President Mugabe throughout the 37-year period dating back from 1977. It is well known that Mbudzi, after his forced retirement, joined opposition politics and became a member of Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn.

We currently hear there is a rift between Mbudzi and Simba Makoni over misappropriation of Mavambo party funds.

The Masvingo Zanu-PF Provincial executive professed ignorance on Mbudzi being a Zanu-PF party member.

I challenge Mbudzi to prove beyond doubt that he applied to rejoin Zanu-PF and was accepted. Mbudzi is a pathological liar whose article was only aimed at attacking the first family. If one does not know his pathological lies one may be tempted to believe his Daily News-published impersonated story.

It is clear that the Daily News story was written as a plot to confuse the nation.

To claim all he alleged and to write as if he was a Zanu-PF cadre is a political impersonation of the highest order, synonymous with political demagogues. It boggles the mind for political turncoats such as retired Major Mbudzi to exhibit empathy with Zanu-PF, a party he worked to destroy on several occasions.

While it is Mbudzi’s right to like or hate The First Family and follow The First Lady rallies as he claimed, it is inhuman, gross impersonation and stinks of political corruption to write such an article as a Zanu-PF cadre when he is not. It is also grossly wrong for Mbudzi to claim to have supported President Mugabe for 37 years knowing it to be false.

It can now be easily deduced that Mbudzi attacked Amai Mugabe to abet a regime change strategy. Let it be abundantly clear that whatever Amai’s error was in her speeches which Mbudzi observed, the bottom line was that she called for party members to transparently exhibit their political ambitions.

In as much as people like Mbudzi might dislike The First Lady, she made it clear that factional politics, vote-buying and exhibiting of clandestine political ambitions destroy the party; which ultimately render the party’s motto of peace, unity and development unattainable.

Mbudzi accuses Amai Mugabe of criminalising other members’ Political ambitions. Far from that; Amai was only critical about the manner in which such political ambitions were being exercised.

Mbudzi also accuses Amai Mugabe of purportedly disciplining the general membership and its top leadership by mere cushion of one’s conjugal relationship with the leader of the organisation.

A person of Mbudzi’s level of education is advised to Google the advisory work of American first ladies and be schooled on their duties. An American first lady runs a budgeted advisory office which Hilary Clinton gave to her daughter when she became secretary of state.

So who is Mbudzi trying to fool with his ignorance of the advisory work of first ladies which is practised globally? Indeed history has lost memory, and therefore has no sane person free from some form of a psychological disorder of schizophrenia, even in its mildest form of neurotic psychosis where a simple non-party card carrying member like Mbudzi disdainfully pens an article attacking a member of an organisation pretending to be also in the structures of that organisation.

It is shameful to hear outsiders crying foul and feeling empathy than insiders on an issue that they should love to take advantage of.

In Shona it is said “itsitsi dzei chikomba kubvisa mwana we mvana madzihwa”.

Who said the Honourable VP needs political support from the opposition? Why are the political demagogues like Mbudzi and Political turncoats like Ibbo Mandaza, Biti and Makoni prepared to wage a war in support of the Honourable VP? Has the VP solicited for their support? Time will tell.

In a party that is riddled with factionalism the Mbudzi article deserved attention from the National Political Commissar who should have commented on the irregular facts inscribed by Mbudzi.

There cannot be any worse dereliction of duty by the National Commissar.
