A MOTHER is being accused of leaving her one-year-old twins under the care of her nine-year-old daughter.
Linda Tinashe’s older daughter (9) has since stopped going to school and neighbours say this is meant to ensure she takes care of her siblings.
Residents are incensed with what has been happening at this house in Zengeza.
“Their mother wakes up early to join her female friend and we do not know where she will be since she is not gainfully employed.
“Sometimes, her husband will be at home for a few minutes and also leaves their daughter nursing the babies.
“Hanzi haaaa anogona kuchengeta vana uye anoziva nguva yavo yekudya asi vana vachiswera vachichema vacheche vakadaro.
“Kubereka kunorwadza ngavasadaro,” said one of the residents.
When H-Metro visited the homestead, Linda and her husband, Desmond Dabwa, were not there and the nine-year-old girl was minding the twins.
Linda told H-Metro that she was attending a church service in Seke.
“It is true that I left home early without telling my daughter where I was going,” said Linda.
“My husband was also at home, but I am shocked to learn that he left the twins crying.
“He is a security guard and I am supporting family by visiting clients for hairdos.
“Today I wanted to consult ana Madzibaba for prayers, maybe, things can change for the better.
“All my children have not been going to school since the beginning of second term because I want to transfer them to Kwekwe where my relative lives.”
She added:
“My daughter is very good in looking after the twins that is why I do not worry.
“My neighbours vanozowedzerawo netumunyu kuti zviite sekuti ndashungurudza vana.
“Next time I will make sure I give my children details of where I will be heading to.
“Zvanhasi ndangandichishandirwa zvangu.”
Desmond could not be reached for comment.
