They took a thorny path to Independence,
United they stood with will power to liberate us,
They got it through thick and thin,
Living a regrettable life of their time,
That many today cherish in celebrations,
Today we live their will for the benefit of the people
One Zimbabwe, one people.
Today we enjoy freedom, love and unity.
We may forget like one who has taken too many.
But freedom doesn’t lie, love does not gossip.
Do justice to those who liberated us.
For they never saw the day.
Today we live like liberators,
We gather like liberators,
We eat like one Zimbabwe,
We drink like one people,
Yet the holy blood, sweat and tears,
That watered our national Heritage is live.
Oh Shake our beloved Zimbabwe!!!
You are not still in bondage but out,
One Zimbabwe, one people.
Stand together as one people,
Fight together as one Zimbabwe,
Celebrate together as a people,
Win together as a nation,
For they never won alone,
Take a leaf and be united,
We should never forget.
