Zimbabwe gospel musicians are set to claim international renown with an online radio station “Joyful FM Radio” created by Ngonidzashe Kaseke. It is a 24 hour online station based in Johannesburg and streaming to the whole world.

“I am a musician and producer who also created an online Christian radio station Joyful FM Radio. It is being listened to in over 60 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands and South Africa, among other countries,” Kaseke a musician-cum-producer based in South Africa said.

Joyful FM Radio is a new ambitious online and mobile Christian radio ministry making use of creative media technology to spread the Word of God through music and creative programs and broadcasts.

The mobile Joyful FM application he developed gives one a chance to listen and buy a song on air from the artist’s ITunes or Amazon account with the money going to the artist.

Kaseke said the thrust of the station was to give Zimbabwe gospel musicians opportunity to connect with their fans across the world over.

“We want to promote Zim gospel artists like Janet Manyowa and many more. Their music will be played along other great international artists like Don Moen, Michael W. Smith, Israel Houghton and Sinach.

“Already we have the likes of Kudzai Sevenzo, Sebastian Magacha, Bonnie Deuschle and Celebration choir, ZimPraise, Carol Wutaunashe, Ngoni ‘DK’ Kaseke and many others on our playlists,” he said.

“We want to promote not only urban Gospel music but also mainstream music in any language. We will have interviews where artists can talk about their music and ministry from wherever they are in the world,” said Kaseke.

He urged Zim artists to take their art seriously and stop giving away their music via social media like WhatsApp for free.

He said their Twitter page now has almost 16 000 followers from around the world.

“Ours is a platform that has a worldwide reach and impact. People out there want to hear the African Gospel sound and Zimbabwe has a lot of talented artists and we want to give them a platform.

“A Joyful Praise Compilation is also in the pipeline which will be an annual compilation of great Gospel music from Africa and distributed by our company Joyful Music,” he added.

Listeners can hear sermons, Christian praise and worship music, testimonies and Bible studies.
