off pouring more misery on the competition-starved local professional golfers.
The tournament was meant to be the second in as many months and would have seen 15 professionals taking to the field.
Several professionals were looking forward to a good development where they would partner the corporate golf days as a way of developing golf and get practice time. Tournament co-ordinator Michael Mahachi could not be reached for comment.
The postponement of the Open Classic and the Cimas Medical Aid Society tournament, which was set for Harare Royal tomorrow, will mean the golfers will have to wait for the first edition of the NetOne series. The
Chapman Golf Club 2011 calendar was never booked for the event as they went ahead with the Wednesday Club.
It had, however, been hoped that the Zambezi Tour was put in place to cater for professional golfers to get more game time.
The Open Classic was the second last tournament of the season and had a good sponsorship package.
The postponement of the two tournaments means the golfers will take long before they play competitive tournaments.
The proposed Zambezi Tour programme:
June 10 Premier Auto Services
