A Paddonhurst family is up in arms with their step sibling who they accuse of wrongful inheritance and have also threatened to expose his sexual misdeeds.
Ndabezinhle Madyara was reportedly named as one of the benefactors following the passing of his step father, Mr Joshua Mpofu who died in Claremont, Cape Town in South Africa due to natural causes.
Mr Mpofu was a war veteran having participated in the country’s liberation war.
Before Mpofu’s death, Madyara was largely accepted as being part of the family.
According to family source, things however turned for the worst following the passing of Mpofu, when he also inherited mines from the estate with his step siblings even threatening to use his sexuality to force him out of inheritance.
Madyara is reportedly bisexual and is a performing artist, where together with his group, Prime Suspects would provide entertainment at opposition rallies.
“His step siblings feel that he should not be benefitting from their father’s inheritance because he was a stepson, which thus started the intense battle against Madyara. This has even led his step-sister Nonhlanhla Mpofu, who is a Zanu-PF member to expose him to authorities for being bisexual, all in a bid to get rid of him.
“However, what complicates is that Madyara is an artist and therefore for him to make ends meet he has to rely on public performances hence no matter where he goes these people seem to always be able to track him and they then expose him to be bisexual this therefore sees anyone willing to work with him reluctant considering that bisexuality is illegal in Zimbabwe,” said the family source.
“He has tried to explain to his step siblings that he is not even interested in the inheritance but it seems these people are just hell bent to get rid of him as legally they are meant to ensure that he gets his part of the inheritance,” added the source.
Efforts to get a comment from Madyara were fruitless were fruitless as his mobile phone was not reachable however Nonhlanhla claimed that their fight was all about him being bisexual.
“As a family, we believe that this is a taboo practice, there is nothing about the inheritance in our fight but we just alerted the police that he is gay besides this is a family issue, I am not even supposed to be talking to you,” she said before hanging up her phone.
