AN Oriel Boys High school teacher lost her handbag, a wallet containing US$135, a Samsung A13 and national ID card to robbers in a mushikashika on Monday.

Patricia Kutadzaushe (39) boarded a white Toyota Wish at Rhodesville Avenue intending to go to town.

The vehicle dropped two passengers at the Cunningham Road junction, leaving Patricia, the driver and a man who acted as the conductor.

The vehicle drove for less than a kilometre and turned off into another road, and one of them informed Patricia that she had boarded a criminals’ vehicle and forced her to surrender her belongings.

In another incident, Violet Maradzika (36), of Chitungwiza, lost her handbag containing US$100, Samsung AS 20 to two men in a Toyota Wish after she disembarked from a commuter omnibus in Malborough on Monday.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, urged people to avoid unregistered transport vehicles.

“Violet disembarked from a commuter omnibus from town at the Civic Centre at 12.20pm.

“An unregistered Toyota Wish stopped in front of her and two men disembarked, manhandled her, covered her face with a black cloth and took her handbag,” said Insp Chakanza.
