Oskido billed for Kwekwe gig

THE town is relatively small but the party will be huge when South Africa-based DJ Oskido graces the town for a once-off show.

The party billed for 12 August, will see Oskido share the stage with local acts, DJ Tony Digital and Gweru-based outfit, Travellers Band.

Solomonaï¿½ï¿½s CafAï¿½ events manager, Brian aï¿½?DJ Brianaï¿½? Wadesango said Oskido was expected to bring along Kalawa artistes and dancers for the party.

aï¿½?We expect Oskido to bring along the entire Kalawa crew for the party. It will be a big one that Kwekwe people should not miss,aï¿½? he said.

He said the party was part of celebrations of the jointaï¿½ï¿½s achievements.

aï¿½?We are holding the party as part of celebration of our achievements as Golden Mile Hotel and Solomonaï¿½ï¿½s Cafe. Recently our proprietor Solomon Matsa received the national ZNCC Businessman of the Year Award and this is part of the celebrations and we decided to make it big,aï¿½? said DJ Brian.

He said advance tickets are already available at the jointaï¿½ï¿½s reception.

aï¿½?Advance tickets are pegged at $5 for general access, and $15 VIP. I urge people to acquire their tickets to avoid last minute rush,aï¿½? he said.

Oskido is one of the pioneers of kwaito music and is a co-founder of Kalawa Jazmee which houses musical acts like Mafikizolo and Uhuru among other big names.
