ZIM Hip-hop artiste, Shingirai “Tanto Wavie” Makaza, has riled some of his fans by glorifying weed in a song.
The rapper is seen holding a joint of weed, and smoking the whole time, in his new video for the song titled Dzinga Munyama.
Speaking to H-Metro, Tanto said people need to appreciate weed.
“What people should know is that weed chases away evil spirits.
“It opens people’s eyes so that they can be able to see clearly what goes on around them,” he said.
“People need to understand the goodness of weed.
“They also are supposed to look at it with a medical perspective in mind.
“In as much as people say it is bad, it has changed the lives of many people in a good way.”
Asked what challenges the artist has been facing, he spoke of the chance to showcase his talent.
“Getting to do live performances is something that has been hard for me.
“I have not had the chance that many other artists have had to do live shows as this get my music to many.
“I also believe that, without enough airplay, my music will not be known by many people,” he told H-Metro.
The artist announced his arrival when he dropped his single track last year.
He has been concentrating on visuals.
“We have been working on the visuals for the song for quite some time now.
“We had a lot of visuals that we had done but we wanted to make sure we had the best video that fits perfectly with the song,” he said
