Over 5000 people succumb to Covid-19

Over 5000 people have died of Covid -19 in Zimbabwe since the first case was reported in 2020.

As at March 16 2022, one death was reported bringing the total number of deaths to 5 417.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) as at March 16, Harare Province has had the highest number of deaths with the total number of 1 774.

Matabeleland North Province recorded the lowest number of deaths with 125 casualties.

Bulawayo Province has a total number of 853 deaths while Manicaland Province has the total number of 545 deaths and 1 new recorded death.

Mashonaland Central Province has the total number of 317 deaths with Mashonaland West recording 517 deaths.

Mashonaland East has recorded a cumulative 405 death cases, Midlands Province has the total of 427 deaths.

Masvingo has the total number of 202 deaths while Matabeleland South Province has the total number of 198 death cases.
