Police have arrested two men who were caught stealing electrical goods from an AE Electrical warehouse in Harare while another one is still on the run. National Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest. Chief Supt Nyathi said the incident occurred on Saturday at midnight. “On Saturday, at around midnight, three men invaded an AE Electricals warehouse and stole electrical gadgets such as solar panels, cables and other items. We suspect that employees, security guards and outsiders connived and used a truck to carry the stolen gadgets. We have arrested two of the suspects while another is on the run,” he said.

He urged the public to shun buying electrical appliances on the streets and warned employees to desist from stealing from their employers. “We are warning employees, security guards and outsiders who connive to steal from businesses. We encourage people to buy at registered and recognised hardwares, so that we curtail this market of stolen items. Anyone caught with stolen items will certainly be prosecuted,” said Chief Supt Nyathi.
