TWO men have appeared in court for assaulting their friend’s wife while the husband watched, accusing her of being disrespectful for following him after receiving a tip that he was with a girlfriend.Nyasha Gambiza followed her husband to his friend’s residence in Mpopoma suburb on December 25, after she was tipped by her cousin that her husband was with another woman.
On arrival, the couple started arguing leading to his friends, Nhlanhla Nyamboyo and Marvellous Ncube assaulting her.
The two appeared before magistrate Tancy Dube and pleaded not guilty to an assault charge.
They were remanded to January 16 for trial.
Prosecuting, Maria John told the court that on Christmas Day last year Gambiza was told by her cousin that she had seen her husband with his girlfriend at Nyamboyo’s place of residence.
Gambiza wasted no time.She followed her husband and confronted him.
Nyamboyo was irritated and told Gambiza that she was disrespecting him at his place of residence. He then began to assault her and Ncube joined in the attack, while her husband was watching.
She sustained injuries all over her body and face.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Nyamboyo and Ncube’s arrest.
