Pair in the dock for murder

From Munyaradzi Doma in ZVISHAVANE
Two men appeared before a magistrate here charged with murder after they fatally assaulted their victim and threw her body into a disused mine shaft. The woman allegedly later died in the shaft.

Tatenda Ngwenya (22), and Givemore Matumba (25) from Murambi and Mhloro villages respectively, under Chief Mazvihwa, allegedly assaulted Gladys Zembeti before ransacking her house. Ngwenya and Givemore were not asked to plead when they appeared before magistrate Mr Shepherd Mjaja facing murder charges.

Mr Mjaja remanded the duo in custody to January 8. He advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.
