from featuring the crème de la crème in the local music sector, the festival will also be graced by two regional artistes, Suzanna Owiyo from Kenya and South Africa’s Steve Dyer.
It appears that the fest, which was launched last year, has grown in stature and will certainly be bigger and better than the previous years.
Conceptualised by superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, who is also the artistic director and executive producer, the festival showcases a variety of performing arts.
In an earlier interview with this paper, Tuku Music spokesperson Shepherd Mutamba revealed that the festival was born out of Tuku’s desire to expose, promote and help artistes.

And true to his word, the festival will feature a medley of both established and upcoming artistes who are expected to make the event a worthwhile one.
From sungura, gospel, afro-jazz to poetry, all will
be on offer for revellers in what, without doubt, is going to be one of the country’s biggest arts fetes this year.
Sungura music icon Alick Macheso will prove why he is one of the country’s top-rated musicians when he takes to the stage to do what he knows best.
Cheso Power has a string of hit albums to his name and his current one, “Zvinoda Kutendwa”, has been well received especially the songs “Tafadzwa”, which is dedicated to his second wife, and “Nguva Yekutenda” among others.
Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu is also another natural artiste to make it into the line-up and like Cheso Power and Tuku, Sulu has been on top of the game throughout the entire year with the success of his smashing album “Non-Stop”.
This is one platform where he will prove to all and sundry that he is indeed one of the country’s leading musicians.
Comedian-cum-musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima is also one of the headliners at the festival and the artiste needs no introduction to local music circles having shot to fame with the hit song “Amai Nga”.
Songbirds Chiwoniso Maraire, Edith Katiji, Fungisayi Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Selmor Mtukudzi will represent the world of female divas with their soulful and seductive music.
Some of the artistes who will make up the rest of the line-up include Steve Makoni, Munya Mataruse, Mathias Julius, Beatrice Eastwood, Watson Junior Chidzomba, Donald Kanyuchi, Nqobile Malinga, Josh Meck and Strovers Maswobe Shadaya.
