THE Sports and Recreation Commission have given the greenlight to Zimbabwe hosting Pakistan’s women team in three ODI and two Twenty20 series mid next month, Sunday Mail Online can reveal.

An announcement is expected to be made today, with Zimbabwe Cricket given strict Covid-19 protocols to observe.

All matches are scheduled to be held at Harare Sports Club, slated for February 11, 13 and 15, while the Twenty20 games have been pencilled for February 18 and 20.

The series will mark the first time the Zimbabwe senior women’s team will be involved in international cricket since May 2019, with both nations using the tour as part of their preparations for the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2021.

The 10-team tournament will be held in June and July, with the top three teams from that qualifying event progressing to the 50-overs ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.
