THE State of Palestine has expressed confidence in President Mnangagwa as the chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) saying he will steer the regional bloc toward further peace and stability
In a congratulatory letter to President Mnangagwa, Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Zimbabwe Dr Tamer Almassri said “I am honoured to present to you, Your Excellency, our best heartfelt congratulations on the resounding success in hosting the 44th SADC Summit and assuming the chairmanship of the regional bloc.
“The excellent and peaceful environment which prevailed during the presence of the distinguished guests in Zimbabwe is a clear testimony of your wise and capable leadership. The State of Palestine has no doubt, Your Excellency, that you will steer the regional bloc towards further peace and stability.
“Allow me, Your Excellency, to express our deep appreciation of your progressive principles of solidarity with the people of Palestine at such a prestigious and important event. It is comforting and encouraging that you always express your solidarity with the people of Palestine against the Israeli prolonged apartheid occupation and aggression in your speeches.”
Ambassador Almassri said they were proud of the relations of friendship and solidarity that exist between Zimbabwe and the State of Palestine and its people.
“Your Excellency, we wish you the very best in steering SADC towards further peace and prosperity and in the attainment of vision 2030. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” he said.
