The Pan African Parliament( PAP) has mourned the passing on of Namibian founding President Sam Nujoma.
PAP president Chief Fortune Charumbira described the late President Nujoma as man of “principle, integrity and uncompromising commitment to the liberation of Africa”.
President Nujoma died aged 95 on February 8 in his homeland.
Chief Charumbira lamented the demise of the African icon saying he leaves behind a legacy of exemplary leadership and transformation.
The PAP president said the late icon’s legacy transcended Namibian borders noting that President Nujoma was an architect of African liberation.
Chief Charumbira pointed out that the entire PAP family will continue to commemorate President Nujoma’s legacy as he was a tireless pan Africanist and a stalwart for African liberation.
“Today we stand united in solemn reverence and profound reflection, bound by our collective memory of a man whose life, leadership and legacy have indelibly shaped not only the course of Namibian history but the broader narrative of Africa’s liberation, unity and progress,”said Chief Charumbira.
