THE Zimbabwe rugby fraternity has been plunged into mourning following the death of former Zimbabwe international and administrator Aaron Jani.
He was 55.
Jani on Wednesday succumbed to colon cancer which he had been battling against for nearly a decade.
“Yes, he had not been well for some time,” said Zimbabwe Rugby Union president Losson Mtongwiza.
“He had been battling cancer for about a decade now but in the last three or so months he seemed to be in a lot of pain.
“It is indeed a sad note for our sport losing a person, character and passionate son like Aaron.”
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced as the Union has decided to give the Jani family some time to process his death.
