Paralympic gold medalist cries foul

Sp5Sports Reporter
DANHIKO Paralympic games gold medalist Grieg Chiwara has appealed to the corporate world to support Paralympics athletes. He was speaking after scooping medals at the recently held Danhiko Games but received nothing for his efforts. “If other sports like netball, basketball and soccer can have individual prizes why not athletics? We hope in future they will introduce prizes for us as well,” said Chiwara.

He said individual prizes could motivate athletes.
“Most people said I was the best, I know I did well but I felt I wasn’t at my best,” said Chiwara.

The sprinter scooped three gold medals in 100 metres, 400 metres and the 4×100 metre relay. Chiwara clocked 11seconds in 100m and 50 seconds in 400m. He thanked all those who supported him with equipment and travelling expenses.
