a?Paralytica con artist exposed

Viola Mzungwana
A ZIMBABWEAN man based in Cape Town earns a living by pretending to be handicapped.

The man whose name could not be established was filmed by a B-Metro source.

The source had observed the man for sometime and even learnt that he was a Zimbabwean conversant in Shona.

The video shows the beggar walking freely with no difficulty but when he gets to his area of begging, he starts walking like a real cripple (ABOVE).

In the video when he realises that he is being filmed, the source laughs at him and tells him to stop emotionally blackmailing the public.

The con artist then responds in Shona saying:

a?This is not a joke, Iam working here and that recording must not end up on the internet.a?

From that point, the conman proceeds to bend his legs to appear like he suffers from a paralytic condition that causes his knees to be weak and unable to support his body without the aid of crutches.

And he goes to work!

He approaches unsuspecting motorists while the traffic light is red and starts begging.

The man recording the video is heard in the background encouraging the conman to get on with it and makes some money while he still can and a motorist is seen handing out what appears to be a food parcel from the window of a vehicle.

The video is available on the B-Metro facebook page.
