The parents appeared before Civil Court magistrate Ms Lynn Manyika who gave them time to pay the various outstanding amounts until the debt is cleared. The instalments are with effect from May 31.
The lawsuit comes barely four months after another class action by a high-density school in Zimbabwe.
In this case the school authorities claimed that the levies were for the past two years.
The school took the legal route to recover the money following Government’s directive not to send away pupils.
The school is claiming various amounts ranging from US$40 to US$ 120 owed to it by the 17 parents.
Mr Nelson Munotyiwa, of the School Development Association, represented the school.
