” If my children go today I know that they will not face many challenges along the road because there are few buses on the road compared to tomorrow,” said Mrs Moyo.
On preparations for the opening of schools parents said they started before the festive season as most stationery and food items had to be bought.
“The past two weeks have been very hectic for us and just like any other parents we were busy trying to get our children everything needed for the new term,” said a Mrs Chigumire.
Parents expressed relief after the Minister of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture, Senator David Coltart, said there would be no fee increases.
A parent, Mr Ndlovu, who has children at Empandeni High School, said the Government decision not to approve school fees increase showed that Government was sensitive to the plight of most parents.
“I am very happy following the decision by Government not to allow fees increases this term,” he said.
