PARENTS stormed Kuwadzana Secondary School in Rimuka, Kadoma, yesterday forcing it to close.
This followed reports the school had been sold to a new board of governors.
School head, Seremina Maunde, addressed the parents and said:
“I was approached by one Sekeremayi under the pretext that he wanted to develop the school since it lacked development.
“Sekeremayi, and company, said that they had connections in Finland who were ready to offer funds for development purposes.

“Later, he came and toured the school premises in the company of the School Development Committee.
“He said that there would be changes to the School Development Committee and a Parents Liaison Committee would be established to run the school’s affairs.
“In July, Sekeremayi and Pastor Zihove pressured me to make changes to the school administration staff, which saw Mapfumo and Muparaganda being laid off.”
Maunde said that she also received a call from Dr Vince Mukwesha advising her that he had a contract with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary to run the school and had secured funds from Finland.
“The school has not been sold,” she said.
Police had to be called in to restore order at the school after parents locked the administration block, forcing the teachers and students to leave the school.
